No Way Up (2024) is a survival thriller directed by Claudio Fäh. The film follows a group of passengers on a flight from Los Angeles to Los Cabos that crashes into the Pacific Ocean after hitting a flock of birds. The survivors, including Ava, the daughter of a prominent politician, her boyfriend Jed, his friend Kyle, a young girl named Rosa, her grandmother Mardy, Ava’s bodyguard Brandon, and flight attendant Danilo, find themselves trapped in an air pocket within the sinking fuselage.
As they struggle to survive, Brandon, an ex-Navy SEAL, takes charge, attempting to keep everyone calm and find a way out. The situation becomes dire as the plane continues to sink, and the survivors face threats from rising water levels and a lurking shark. Brandon’s heroic efforts to retrieve an oxygen tank end tragically when he is attacked by the shark.
The group must work together to escape the submerged wreckage before their air supply runs out. Utilizing their limited resources and wits, they embark on a perilous journey to reach the surface, battling both the elements and their fears. The film highlights themes of survival, teamwork, and the human spirit’s resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.
